View Full Version : messenger doesnt turn off all the way

I close the messenger or exit and put computer in hibernation and when i turn
computer back on it says i am logged on and have such amount if email
messages. How do i shut if off all the way. I do not want the msn or
messenger on all the time

Greetings,

Just right-click the Messenger icon in the notification area (by the clock) and choose Exit.
That should get rid of it.

I do right click and chose exit but it is still running

Hi,

Which Messenger client are you using exactly? If you're using Windows Live Messenger, then
it's probably Windows Messenger (not Live) running in the background.

Right-click on a blank area of the taskbar and choose Task Manager. Click the processes and
tab and see if msmsgs.exe is running. If it is, click it and choose End Process.
