regedit, task manager open then immediately close... any ideas?

When I open regedit or task manager they open then immediately close. Been
running xp for over a year and it just started happening.


Anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Tried it... no help... the tweak itself pops open and then closes immediately
before I can hit the yes button.

Anything else?

I've known a few people with this problem. Turned out to be a virus. It
caused so much damage to the system that they had to reformat.

Hi,

This worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

Rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:

Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all the files mentioned
in the above link.
