Smart Dialer has encountered a problem.

My IP provider is Peoplepc. Whenever I log off the
internet I get the following error message;
Smart Dialer has encountered a problem and needs to close
etc.
Error Signature
AppName: dialer.exe
AppVer: 5.3.3.31
ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.1106
Offset: 00001ce1

I have contacted Peoplepc tech support and the only
advice I could get was to uninstall and reinstall their
dialer....I have done that at least ten times. Another
tech support person told me to reinstall Windows which I
am not prepared to do. I have scanned my computer with
the Norton Windoctor and my system checks out OK. What
could possibly be wrong?

See if this helps: "How to Troubleshoot Program Compatibility Issues
in Windows XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=285909). You can
also try to start over: remove the program and also clean the Registry
from all leftovers related to this application. Then reinstall the
dialer.
