I wanted to add some more data files to a CDR that I had
copied some files to last week. I followed the help
for "To add more files to a CD" but the copy process
locked up in the finalisation stages.
Has anyone had similar problems with writing files to a
CD in a separate session? (the CD itself was not faulty).
If not, then where am I going wrong?
The details of this crash are:
1 I created a new folder in the temporary area for the CD
2 I started the copy into the new folder, and got as far
as writing the files from the temporary area to the CDR.
3 The files already on the CD disappeared from the
Explorer screen.
4 The CD Writing wizard said it was preparing the files,
then writing them then preparing the disc for use. Then
it froze.
5 The CD busy light stayed on, so did the hard disc busy
light. I could not cancel the CD Writing wizard, nor
eject the CD.
6 I tried closing down Windows, but that froze too.
7 In the end I had to switch off the mains power. The CDR
was unreadable.
On starting up the PC, I inserted a blank CDR and copied
the files without problem.
