I'm new to XP too! Trying to use the Wizard to transfer
files from old computer (has a non-writing CD drive, so
no option there). Could use the floppy method or buy a
direct cable. Would a parallel-to-parallel cabel (though
inefficient) do the job?
Seems it would be better via modem but no documentation
for this. Anyone know if it can be done modem-to-modem
and any tricks for doing it? thanks!

This may help: "How to Use Files and Settings Transfer Wizard"

I'm not sure if a modem could do it without extensive configuration. But
you can set you a direct cable connection. Although I think parallel cables
don't go any faster than 1Kb/s. Search your help
