When I open regedit, msconfig or task manager they open then immediately
close.

Tried this from kelly... no help... the tweak itself pops open and then closes
immediately before I can hit the yes button.

On another suggestion from Taurarian

I ran these per instructions... no help

Did a complete virus scan... no help

regedit, msconfig or task manager all work correctly from safe mode..

Can I restore system and system files from the original cd? What is the best
method?

Any ideas appreciated!

Hi,

This worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:
http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/virusinfo.php?menu_id=1&v_id=114

Rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:

Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all the files mentioned
in the above link.
