Adding multiple contacts at once to an instant message

Using Windows Messenger 5.1 with SIP, Windows XP, on a corporate network.

Is there any way to add multiple contacts to an instant message rather than
one at a time?

Greetings,

I assume you mean to a conversation. Unfortunately there isn't in Windows Messenger, I
believe you can in Office Communicator (which will work on SIP) though.
