View Full Version : Strange installation problem

Computer previously was running XP Pro but had a lot of
viruses so I decided to reformat. XP will now start up
only in safe mode, starting normally it is a black screen
with a single white pixel towards the left hand side.
Same result when I reset BIOS before installing. Old copy
of ME will install and run properly, but installing XP as
upgrade to ME results in same black screen. In safe mode,
disabled all non-essential hardware, but still got a black
screen. XP disk installed cleanly a different computer.
Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I'm
stumped.
