Microsoft sent me two trial O/S software, one is Windows
XP Professional and Windows Server 2003. I installed the
XP Professional, I set up two Admin accounts and two
restrictive accounts. My problem is every time I log off
I lose all my info this includes my mail, and all desktop
settings as well as any other settings I have done. It
does not effect any of the other 3 accounts just mine. I
have tried reinstalling it 3 times now but still does the
same thing, only my Admin account is effected each time.

This did start after Windows Update starting downloaded
all the updates on it's own, and of course that also
keeps repeating it's self too when I log off then back on
again.

Any help in this would be great.

Thanks

Hi Gerald,

You should not be using the WinXP trial version, the license to use them =
expired with the release of the retail version. The updates may not be =
compatible with the pre-release version.

Just as a heads up, there are trial versions that are not tied to release
versions. He could be referencing this type of trial version.

Thanks for the info, but this trial version just arrived
last week directly from Microsoft Corporation. Why would
they send me this if it was not going to work? and it did
accept the key code and also accepted the registration as
well. Also they are giving this trial 120 days, it is a
try before you buy version from microsoft. Now with all
that said and done maybe I should try installing the
other disk they sent me? they sent me two win xp pro o/s
disk.
Thanks again
