In Oracle Virtual Box:

I updated to 9879 with no problems. The entire process took about 2.5
hours.

Up until today I had no apps installed. First thing I did today was
install Virtual Box extensions.

Next I gave my old 16 bit version of Tetris a try.

I got a message saying NTVDM (DOS emulator) was needed so I let the
system search and install it .

That old Tetris game works fine!

The reason that worked, is your Win10 Preview must have
been the 32 bit one. A 16 bit application should still
work on that.

Yep, 32 bit

The only way I could get my old Tetris to work on my wife's 64bit Win7
machine as to install XP in a virtual machine. I just leave Tetris
running, then "save state"

If it's a DOS program, you could try DOSBOX. Not only would it let you
run it on 64-bit Windows, but even Linux and Mac's.

It's a win3x application and I think I might have tried DOSBOX first.

Basically I just did it for the heck of it. There is no need for me to
have Tetris on my wife's machine anyway.
