XP Backup Utility Fails
 

Using the Automated System Recovery Wizard and after all files are backed up
the Utility will not write to the 'A' drive. It has does this for several
backups.
I have used the System Restore functions to create the files, but I would
rather not have to do that each time.

Also, the last time I did a backup it took 15 hours to back up 60 gigs.
Another computer did this in about 2 hours. Both were backed up to external
hard drives, but not the same one.

Any ideas or help appreciate.

Why are you using diskettes in 2010?

Why are you using a backup program from 2002?

If you're serious about backing up, buy a real backup program.

Why are you using diskettes in 2010?

Why are you using a backup program from 2002?

If you're serious about backing up, buy a real backup program.

hardware available to do so has changed dramatically, and for the better.

for backing up...or burning DVDs or editing video or handling compressed
files or searching...might have advanced over the last 8 years?

Look into some Imaging Apps. I use Macrium Reflect Free each Friday and save
to an External Disk Drive just bought.
(http://www.macrium.com/ReflectFree.asp).............

I still do System State backups BUT added Imaging as ALL methods have had
posts about them claiming "their"Backup/Image didn't work. Safety in numbers!

The $40 Macrium paid Ver gives a WinPE Repair CD and does much more than
Image the entire C: Drive, which is what I use Free for.. Acronis is more
known but hopefully some searching will provide a suitable choice.
