My Network Places won't close or be edited

My Network Places opens up whenever I turn on my computer, and won't close,
it seems to close but then another one appears. It also cannot be edited
("not responding" and then freezes. Same thing happens with the Recycle Bin
except it can be edited. I have run a Virus check and no viruses popped up.
Everything else seems to be fine.

Have you checked the Startup tab of MSCONFIG to see if they can be turned
off there? Sounds like someone put shortcuts to them in the Start
Menu\Startup group.
