Tighter security under SP2

Before I upgraded to Service Pack 2, my laptop would boot up directly to the
desktop. Since upgrading, it now boots up to a log on screen. I understand
that there is a desire for tighter security but in this case it seems like
overkill. When I work at home – which is most of the time – the machine is
unpassworded in a secure area. So I’d like to go back to booting up to the
desktop. Is it possible to make that change and if so, how? Thanks

Go to Start - Run.
Copy and paste the following into the Open box:

control userpasswords2

Click OK.
Uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer".
In the box that pops up, replace Administrator in the "User
Name" box with your user account. Enter your password twice.
Note: You can leave the password box blank if your account does
not have a password.
Click OK twice and reboot to see if you get the desired
results.
