since this version does not appear to have media player, but does play
music in an app called "Music", If I minimize music, to work and keep the
music playing in the background, the music pauses , is it not possible to
keep it playing while working on something else ?

Thoughts on this ?

I have Windows Media player also. I have not tried to reproduce the
effect with the Music app, but thought that it kept playing also. I
don't think I secondarily installed WMP and think it came with. (Build 9879)

Windows Media Player has been a bloated piece of junk since almost forever,
and I have nothing good to say about "apps" at all. Replace them with
something better and move on. I use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema
(MPC-HC) for all of my videos and Winamp for audio.

thanks for you opinion,
I rarely watch videos, but I do like to have music playing while I work
on the computer, and don,t have a lot of physical room available
for a boombox, or don,t like the MP3 player at the except when I am doing
yard work or traveling So a music player that will work minimized on the
desktop computer is a plus.. media-player or winamp.. whatever..
just want something that works with Win10 seamlessly..

My thought: have you tried *not* minimizing the Music app and just
bringing up the other app or program you want to work with?

You can try fubar2000 as the music player; you can even minimize it
to the taskbar while it's playing. Don't know if it works with win 10
but it should. I'm not able to try it with win10 as win10 or hyper-v
don't understand usb dac/amp for audio.

The win 10 build I'm using don't do .flac audio.

Shouldn't matter whether the app is minimize to the task bar or not
if programmed correctly. The poster should just get the fubar2000
for just audio; even something like vlc would work when minimized.

The "Music" app must be another msft bomb even if win 10 is an alpha
product or is that a pre-alpha for developers' to work with.......

Just do what almost everyone has always done: use a music player that *does*
do .flac. Who really cares what Windows supports.
