outlook express won't send mail, not enuf memory
 

all of a sudden my wifes' computer quit sending email
says not enough memory
i've cleaned out the deleted files
emptied the recycle bin
done disk cleanup
defragged multiple times

any one have ideas or other site if this is not appropriate here

Look in the Outbox and see if it's loaded up. If so, delete all, and
try again. If you can't delete them, close OE, search for Outbox.dbx
and delete the file. Try again. If still no-go, could the machine be
infected?

I've tried deleting ouitbox, sent files, deleted files.
I've run malwarebytes and avast virus checker
I could try deleting the .dbx file but would that delete the contacts list
also or just the outbox(which appears empty)?
I can export the contacts list and reimport if deleting the dbx file works,
but i've never tried that so can only hope it works.
