Windows XP Hotfix SP2 backup file removal

I selected the safe option when installing SP2. This
allowed an SP2 uninstall if problems arose. The install
has been fine, and I would like to recover the space used
for the uninstall files. Can anyone please advise how to
safely remove all these files and directories? Most or
all of the directories are in the Windows directory with
names of the form $NtUninstallQ319580$

Hmm ... and where did you get this SP2? Are you sure it was for WinXP?
Reason being, MS has not released, and as far as I know, not even started
beta testing SP2 for WinXP yet.
There are plenty of Post-SP1 hotfixes, that will be included in SP2.

Actually John, there are various small patches named with
the SP2 at the end of them - which will be included in
the "large" SP2 service pack that will be coming out in
awhile. They've started developing patches already for
SP2.
