Movie Maker says File is Corrupted
 

It is a standard DV file direct from my HC96 camcorder. I even tried
capturing from another app called WinDV and the capture worked
perfectly, the file is viewable in VLC media player but when I try to
import into WMM -
C:\Documents and Settings\Justin\Desktop\Mt Laurel.avi could not be
imported. The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.
It works fine on another XP machine.

Maybe you need a codec for the .avi file.

I don't think you understand.

The file is a normal DV file direct from the camcorder.
It imports correctly onto another machine via WMM. The second machine
has no codecs other than the ones installed with XP.
But just to show you what I mean, here is gspot's take on the first clip:

I used to be able to import DV files from this camera before, even PAL
clips.

I think I have the problem solved.
I downloaded and installed the XP codec pack from freecodecs.com
Once that was done I seem to be able to save again.
The file I was having a problem with is from a Panasonic S7 camcorder.
