Screaming weasels.

I wanted to delete an old user account, no longer needed, and
create a new one.
I can delete the files, but not the account. (The name is still
under users).
I can create the new account, but there is no directory for user
"Nik".
And when I log into Nik, nada. I mean, I can log into Nik, but it
is using the "default profile". Which apparently can't be changed.

This was a "simple procedure" that I started 3 hours ago.

Anyone know where I can download "Default" or the like?

Don't you do this from the account level ?

There should be an option, when deleting an account,
to remove the home directory of the account. And that
would be preferably to trying to hammer it manually
using your own skills.

My recommendation for a home user is to back up the C:
drive first, before your first adventure into account
management. Because (like me), you could be very sorry
about the outcome of your experiment later.

Our friends at sevenforum.com keep tutorials, and they
come in handy when you need to do a task like this.

The old account was deleted. From the control panel no less.
Should have saved it, then I could copy the profile, and maybe it
would work.

But, I'm trying to create an account. normal user, Administrator
- it doesn't matter. There default profile, there is no directory for
the users made. There are two entries:
C:\Users\Owner (that's me)
C:\Users\Public

There is no entry for Fred (a user account) or for Nike (another admin
account)
Attempting to log into Fred gives the "we can't do that cause
there is no profile" message, and logs right back out.

I have been attempting to do the regedit fandango, but there is no
S-1-5-21-2313257807-2875506227-549575133-1001.bak
entry to edit.

Sorry if this comes across as hostile, but I've just spent the
better part of 5 hours getting nowheres. It has been "educational",
but, well the missus just came in and said I need to do something
else. I told her "Too dark to chop wood."
