configuring an old printer
I am having trouble getting an old 24 pin AEG Olympia NP
80-24 to operate with WIN XP. Lost manuals and forgotten emulation modes do not help. The problem is that the printer, even configured as a basic generic text printer, fails to handle the print job. Either the beginning of the file is printed after a lot of print head action, or only the last paragraph is printed. It is as if the printer cannot manage the speed of the data flow from the print spooler. I have played with spooler settings in Properties but cannot slow the transfer of data to the printer. Is there a trick? I have 500 pages of basic text to print and I figured the dot matrix would be fast and economical. I have searched for drivers high and low. A basic Epson LQ driver is supposed to be OK but no luck. |
