Do we need computer to write a book?

I was looking for computer program to write a book based on movies scripts,
with some action story and adventure. Don't want to sell the story, just
want to write the book and have fun.
Do you know if this is possible?

No, you can't write a book unless you have much more talent than you
have.

Sorry, but I don't understand your question. Of course, you can write
a book. Anyone can. Whether it's fun or not is up to you.

I was asking if there is any software to compose a big text that makes
sense, something different than translating.

I was wondering if I could write a novel with at least 100 pages. I'm poor
and don't have talent but would be great.

In my opinion the only way to write a book on a computer is to use a
Good word processor program. The most expensive is MS Word and is part
of the Microsoft Office Suite. It will run about $130 if you buy the
Student and Home version, and 2 to 3 times that if you go for the higher
end versions.

I use Word Perfect from Corel. Like MS Word, it comes in various
version. The Student and home version can be bought any time for about
$100, and at least twice that for the standard version.

It has been some time since I used MS Word, and then in a company I
worked for, so I don't know if the word processor in the Student and
Home version is the same as in the more expensive versions.

I do know that if you buy the Student and Home version of Word Perfect,
you get the same version as you get in the most expensive version.
Difference being in the PDF document handling. If you are writing a
book you probably will not need the functions that are not in the
Student and Home edition.

There are may good free programs that emulate MS Word and Microsoft
office like, Open Office, IBM Lotus Symphony, etc. Just search the web
for free word processors. It has been years since I used IBM Symphony,
but at the time it was considered one of the best. I have tried Open
Office and I went to Word Perfect because the spread sheet was pretty
clunky at the time I tried it.

If you are running Windows there are two word processors include. A
very simple one is Notepad. The other is Wordpad. These both are on
the simple side and probably will not fulfill you needs.

While I have used MS Word, I prefer to use Word perfect as it is much
easier to edit the formatting that is need for advanced writing.

Libre Office.

Wordpad would do it too if you didn't want anything fancy. And it's already in windows.

I would need a computer since it does all of my typing via speech
recognition.

Just a few monkey's and a keyboard is all you need, eventually they'll
write the book before you though in some cases more monkeys might be
required.

Artificial intelligence (AI) programs (bots) that can write stories
already exist. You feed them things like the stats of a basketball game,
names of players, a few pointers to brilliant plays, etc, and the
program churns out a story. That works because sports stories are very
much alike (and why listening to commentators is such a bore compared to
watching the game). Other programs write reviews of restaurants,
products, and such. I've seen more than couple of claims that many of
the on-line reviews are in fact churned out by bots.

I do not believe an Artificial Intelligence program will ever replace a
story written by a person. I have read some and they are all obviously
formulaic. . You may not recognize the formula used for the first story
you read, but on the second it becomes obvious.

With AI programs the phrase from the credits of the old detective shows
applies, "The names and place were changed to protect the innocent" and
like the old detective shows, you quickly know where the story is going.

What makes a good piece of art, visual, or written, is the subtle
mistakes in the piece, not the perfection.

Unless they were working in the same story, writing methodically and
following an alignment. Random composition doesn't make sense.

There's a statistical theory that if you gave a million monkeys
typewriters and set them to work, they'd eventually come up with the
complete works of Shakespeare. Thanks to the Internet, we now know
this isn't true.

None that I've heard about. If it did exist, don't you think the movie
industry would be all over it? Novel adaptations are still being
written the old fashion way, by people.

Do you know if this is possible?

Possible? Today? No. It takes skill and talent to turn a screenplay
into worthwhile prose. Something computer programming has yet to
achieve.
