Win10 home to pro upgrade

Can anyone confirm that this article's method for a cheap pro upgrade
actually works?
https://www.zdnet.com/article/going-...thout-hassles/

Can get win7 pro licences for under 15 quid, so it'd be great, if it works.

Frankly, why do you need to have a pro in the first place. Don't tell
me "It's nice to have" because it makes no sense when you are not using
all the features of a professional edition.

I need bitlocker.

Search for 'bitlocker for windows 10'

I have. It says that Home doesn't have bitlocker. Hence my need for Pro.

Yes, it works. I did this not too long ago with no problems at all. Just do
a disk backup/image before you start . . . just in case 😉.

You already have one confirmation - here's 4 more.

My client bought 3 new laptops all with Win10 home and I upgraded them using
the key from the *retail* Win7 Pro installs that were on the old laptops.

I purchased a new Surface Go tablet with Win10 Home S, did the free upgrade
to Win10 Home, then the upgrade to Pro using an unused *retail* Win7 Pro key
and it worked fine in all cases.

With over 950 million devices now running Windows 10,
customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of windows.

There was actually some interesting news today.

https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2018...still-far-off/

"Windows 10 is now on 700 million devices, according to
executives speaking at the Ignite conference this week,
reports Neowin."

"The importance of that number was part of Microsoft's sales pitch to developers"

"The company said it had reached 500 million users at its Build conference last year,
increasing that to 600 million six months later in November. This new total of
700 million has been in the cards for some time, with the company saying that
it was close to that many users back in May as part of the announcement
of Terry Myerson's departure."

You'll need to make a small correction to your sig.

Paul
