Are we out of the flashplayer activex
 

What's going on with those of us with the XP (x64 in my case)? I can't
download the flash lpayer online and haven't been able to for a long time.
Now I have a downloaded manual install flash player. I keep getting the
message it's old. I can't find the updated on to download for manual install
anywhere on adobe's site. Is anyone else having this problem? I guess our
days are numbered.

If you're looking for version 207, you might try something
from this set. Try the "_ax.exe" one if you need ActiveX.

Using the last link, you can query what the current version
is, then modify the URL to select a matching version for download.

Well flash 23a was downloaded for firefox. And I triedinstalling and get
the same "connection error" afte rtry again, I get the same problem and the
download is removed. Trying to use facebook is crazy.

The one you have that's for netscape and seamonkey seems to be the one I
have. shrug IDK what's wrong.

Local gov, and industry sites use flash (including my own employer's sites).

V.18 is the last one that works with my SM 26 or FF27 combined with

207 seems to be the latest version. I am guessing it's an activex
control. But I don't know. if not it was at one time. 23_a seesm to be what
"get.adobe..." wnts me to have. But it doesn't want to download. IDK what's

23.0.0.207 is the latest flash.
Active X is for IE.
PAPPI is for Chrome & Opera.
NPAPI is for FF.

I have flash 22(.0.0.209) on my XPSP3 PC. and it functions with an older
browser. It still says it needs updating, but then fails to do so.
(connection Error, possibly due to my firewall timing out the download)

I can download any version, save to disk, then install as needed.
I can't quite figure out what you are trying to do and what errors
for what you are getting.

About the only way you could screw this up,
is by installing the 64-bit version of
Firefox or something. Even though you have
a 64-bit OS, sometimes for plugin reasons
it is better to use the bog-standard 32 bit
Firefox version. If you don't make a special effort,
you may be offered the 32 bit version of Firefox
when you download a copy. But you can go to the
download site and manually get the 64 bit version.

I expect Adobe has made some provision for 64-bit
browsers, but I don't know that for a fact.
