updating Windows 10 to version 1709

Hi all,
I am having trouble updating my wife's HP computer to the "2018-04
Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems
(KB4093112)".

It goes through the download and requests and restart but when I
restart it shows this same error message "Your device is at risk
because it's out of date and missing important security and quality
updates. Let's get you back on track so Windows can run more securely.
Select this button to get going:"

I noticed that during the download it will go to 10% and then jump to
100%.

I have updated my computer with no problems and it went through
several restarts before it was completed and I now have this "Feature
update to Windows 10, version 1803 successfully installed on
5/10/2018". and it went through several restarts before it was
completed. But my wife's computer will not do the update although it
says it needs to.

Any help would be much appreciated,
Albert

David,
I had seen that earlier in this thread but it kind of confused me ;-)

But I did go into settings, troubleshooting, Windows update and they
had a series of fixes which I did twice and got green checkmarks on
everything. I started Windows update again and everything has gone
smoothly since.

At the present time I'm on "Working on updates 82%" do not turn off
PC"

So it looks like everything's okay but I thank you for your trouble.
Thank you, Albert

You are most welcome. :-)

This is one of the better groups on Usenet with some very competent folk
to help you should the need arise again. FWIW, it is NOT available as a
'Google Group'!

Ben,
When I open that up and looked at downloads it said "This file
couldn't be downloaded".

Thank you,

Don't be so sure... My laptop gets to 85% consistently and
then the update reports failure :-(
