hibernating

For some reason, my PC (XP) started hibernating after 20-
30 minutes, and won't start without a hard boot. Didn't
change any settings. May have had a power surge but none
of my other machinery showed any signs. I've reset the
Power Schemes but it still hiberates. Machine stays on,
screen goes black, won't respond to keyboard or mouse -
have to reboot each time. Any suggestions.

¿Your Power Schemes reset to defaults everytime you restart Windows?

If it happens try to tweak'em on the registry. I've posted a similar thread
by April 22 called "Restore Power Profiles". Take a look and let me know if
it worked.
