How to remove hidden program in Windows XP-SP2 Home Edition comput
I just discovered (through a friend) that I have another complete Windows XP
program in my computer. I am not too familiar with all the technicalities but I am told that this program is one reason why I have so many files and why my computer is so slow. I just installed SP2 from a CD Monday so I don't think that is the problem. Do any of you have any suggestions for me as to what to do to get rid of this other program I apparently have somewhere in my hard drive? Thank you. -- bev. carpenter |
If you have 2 installations of XP on your computer, you'll have to
remove/uninstall one of them. Instructions are he http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1031283130 BE CAREFUL which one you delete - you may have data/files on the deleted copy that will be lost unless they're backed up! Now, an extra installation of Windows XP is unlikely to slow down your system to any significant degree. The biggest concern is the lack of free space on your hard drive, and your hard drive's condition - which the 2nd install of XP only impacts marginally. Thank you usasma. I am really computer illiterate. I'll just probably leave
everything alone then. -- bev. carpenter "usasma" wrote: If you have 2 installations of XP on your computer, you'll have to remove/uninstall one of them.
