When opening some emails, I am prompted with an error of

"One or More ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either:

1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this
page,
or
2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls.

As a result, the page may not display correctly."

You really want some unknown sender to run any scripts they want on your
host? The default behavior in e-mail client is to disable all the HTML
nasties in e-mails. They are e-mail clients, not web browsers. That
means, for example, that Microsoft e-mail clients will default to
rendering HTML formatted e-mails under the Restricted Sites security
zone.

Why does this sender have to send using HTML format? Is there really
anything in their e-mail that cannot be relayed using plain text?

Why does this sender stick scripts into their e-mails? They won't run
when the HTML gets rendered inside an e-mail client. If they want to
run scripts and present you with a web page then put that content on a
web server and provide a link to it in their e-mail whereupon the user
can decide whether or not to visit that web site.

Your sender is composing an HTML-formatted e-mail that violates the
security that has been available in e-mail clients for over a decade.
