Blue Box around letters under icons

I can't believe I can't fix this problem myself...but here goes...Somehow I
ended
up with a blue box encaseing the words under my icons on my start up screen.
I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of the boxes, I know it has
to be something simple and I am just overlooking it...It's driving me
nuts..somebody
please help....Thanks picaneez

Hi picaneez,

Right-click on My Computer, select Properties, Advanced tab, Settings button
in Performance section, under Visual Effects tab scroll down and click in the
checkbox beside "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" to check
it, then Apply then OK and OK again.

Right-click a blank area of the Desktop, then select Arrange Icons by and
click to uncheck "Lock Web Items on Desktop"

Regards,

Hi!

And if that doesn't work then try this. Right click on the desktop
then choose properties, then click on the desktop tab. Then click on
the customize desktop button, then click on the web tab and finally
delete the Active Desktop element for example the web page listed in
the text box. Click apply and ok.
