Experts among us,
Is there a problem if one uninstalls SP1 and SP2? The
computer is faster and physical memory has increased from
50% to 80%. Am I really losing benefits not having
these installed?

Thank You!

Robert,

We have not yet released SP2 for Windows XP.
If you have access to SP2 then please redirect your question to the
appropriate support path.

If you are actually referring to the per SP2 hotfixes that you see in the
Add or Remove Programs applet then the choice of uninstalling these is up to
you but some are critical updates and security patches. You do so at your
own risk.

The major Office updates are called "Service Releases" vs "Service
Packs." However, have seen the terms used interchangeably in Office
discussions. You're right. It can be confusing.
