Location of CMOS Battery in HP Pavilion N3390 Laptop

SNIP
Hi Paul,

It sure does look like that might be the CMOS battery on the bottom of the
mother board, near the AC adapter connector. Unfortunately, there is no
access from the bottom unless I use a dremel tool to cut an opening. I am
SHOCKED that HP would put a CMOS battery in a location that requires major
disassembly. I have replaced CMOS batteries on various laptops of mine over
the years, but never had to remove the mother board.

Do you know this image to be that of a HP Pavilion N3390?

Thanks again, John

Well, it's a sale site, and sale sites have been known to put the
wrong pictures up for a sale item.

About all you can do, is "correlate" what you're seeing in the pictures,
against the item in hand, and see if it's a match. That at least
adds some weight, but doesn't give a 100% assurance it is what it
says it is.

Paul

Hi Paul,

I compared the docking connector, and other connectors to my N3390
and it sure looks like a match relative to their locations. Since this laptop
is over 10 years old, I will use my dremel tool and carefully cut a square
opening at the location indicated in the photo. Note: I once did this on
another laptop for a different reason.

Give me a day or two and I will report back. I am currently working
on a couple other projects.

Again Thank You, John
