stolen Windows XP
Late last month someone stole my laptop which had XP on
it. I contacted Toshiba (it came preloaded) and they said to contact Microsoft about getting a version that is not a recovery disk. I guess I am wondering how to contact MS directly, the site is a nightmare for this type of question? Do I have a license for XP or not? Any ideas? |

David;
If Windows XP came preinstalled, it is OEM. If Windows XP is OEM, it was stolen with the computer regardless if you have the CD or Product Key. Microsoft can do nothing since it is OEM, all support comes from manufacturer. Include Windows as part of the laptop insurance claim. Your OEM license was stolen with the computer so you no longer have a valid license. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] An easier way to read newsgroup messages: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...oups/setup.asp Please respond to newsgroup only for everyone's benefit.
