After rearranging my HDD drives, one remains
offline with the above message when I attempt to
online it.

Also the following has appeared in the ''disk
drives'' list in device manager.....

''Prolific ATAPI-6 Bridge C USB Device''

How can I fix this?

Do you have an old disk enclosure plugged in,
with no hard drive inside it ?

The PL-2307 USB to IDE chip might correspond
to that device string, but I can't be 100% sure.
I found an old product brief that mentions
only ATAPI-4, so that's not it.

There is also the PL-2507, but it is a
USB to SATA chip. It can claim to be ATAPI-6 if it
wants, because such a designator is irrelevant
(the real device would transfer at whatever
SATA rate was negotiated).

Check to see if an enclosure with that chip
in it is still connected. It could even be
a "dock" for that matter, but that is probably
a pretty old product for such a thing. (There
are dock chips now with SATA III capability.)

Try connecting to a different SATA port.
