'Wake on Lid Open': Not available?

It's enabled in BIOS.

And I am pretty sure I saw it briefly in Control Panel | Power Options,
but I cannot find it.

As us ZenBook, 8.1.

Per Ron:

doessleep

Already have that set and it works.

What I am looking for is Lid *Open* to automagically wake it up from
Sleep.

Actually, I have it set to Hibernate on Lid Close... if that makes any
diff.

Wake is for sleep.
You can't wake from Hibernation.
When you've Hibernated everything is powered off.

Although Windows 8 tends to use a hybrid mode where the state is saved
as in hibernate, but power is retained as in sleep. As I understand it,
if power is not lost, startup is quicker, i.e, the same as in sleep.

And it *does* feels like that to me with my W8 setup.

You're the lucky one. It's Bluto who corrects mine.

We have a winner!!!!

Also, that would explain why I actually *had* seen the option at some
time.

Thanks!

Yeah, but that shoots down my idea about hybrid shutdown :-)

Oh well, it's almost April, a whole new month in which to get my monthly
good answer.

We may have a "winner", but I don't understand what you mean by
"automatically waking it up from sleep" with the lid open. You have to
at least touch a key or move/click the mouse.
