Excel - "Tools/Options"

I am running Office 97 Pro and when using Excel, I have
discovered I can't get into "Tools - Options". Each time I
try I get the Microsoft "Send Error Report" and Excel
shuts down.

I can't say how long it's been like it as I rarely use it,
but it could be since loading XP a few months ago. It was
certainly not a problem some time before that.

Can anyone help me with this?

Ed

Hi Ed,

Your 97 Pro should have a "repair" feature in the "Add/remove" feature =
in the Control Panel. Open that up in Add/remove, scroll down to Office =
97, click on the "Change/Remove" button next to pro, and you then should =
get the option to repair it. You will need to insert the 97 Pro =
installation disk if prompted.

No good, I'm afraid, John. Problem's still there.
I even ran my copy of "Registry Mechanic" which found one=20
shared file that was unwanted.

I can only assume a conflict of some sort has occurred.=20

Any ideas?

Do you have this "option" in Word?

Yes, Jon. It works fine.

Hmm,

Try posting in the Office newsgroups, like excel or officexp.misc, and =
see what they say. I can only think that a registry is bad and what you =
have attempted so far won't make the change.
