Drive letters assignement

Hello;
I am facing some problems:
I am trying to have 3 boot drives (W7, W10, W10-SSD), this is easy using
EasyBcd, but...
My configuration is: Disk C: = Boot + Windows, Disk D: = Applications (for
all boots)
Two boots are working: W7 and W10-SSD, but W10 boot does not work, and i
think that the assignment letter for the Drive D: is not correct.

Is there a way to correct "offline" (as W10 is not booting), this
assignment letter in the W10 drive C: (in a Windows file or other) ??

"does not work" does not tell anyone else what is happening. How do you
know one config "does not work". "Windows" doesn't say which edition
you are using (Home, Pro, Enterprise): neosmart.net/EasyBCD/#comparison
notes you have to pay for their commercial version to use the Pro and
Enterprise editions with their product.

I believe specifying the wrong drive letter for the OS partition was one
of the problems noted in EasyBCD's FAQ.

I hit several articles or mentions at their site that EasyBCD doesn't
fix booting problems but instead to use their Easy RE tool.

Alas, not free.

You can try the Macrium emergency boot CD "boot repair".
An assumption would be, that you point it at the BCD which
is in control of the situation, and at the very least, the
BCD contains entries for all OSes (because it's a boot
repair, not a mind reader).

You also have the option of editing the BCD yourself.
I've corrected the drive letter within the BCD myself
on one occasion. You can use BCDedit from a WinPE disc,
and edit the BCD.

As for the OPs request and config, I only have pity for
him, because in my Win10 dual boot setup, if you select
the non-default OS, the boot loader does a "double start"
and the process is slow as molasses. It's better
to manage booting with the BIOS popup boot (if these
are separate drives for each OS). If all the OSes are
on one drive, then I suppose you don't have much choice.
Perhaps a GRUB boot loader to control them, then
makes as much sense as the Microsoft one (chainload them
individually or something).

The only reason I did a dual boot Win10/Win10 setup,
was to test whether Microsoft could handle it or not.
I can't say I'm impressed with the results - it doesn't
matter whether you turn off Fast Boot or not, the boot
loader uses the same dumb logic in either case.

By all means, multiboot, but be aware the design is only
getting worse with time, not better.
