I guess the information I had was outdated. It turned out that what I
said was true but only of the early versions of both HDMI and
DisplayPort. New versions are capable of exactly what you say. In the
user's case, he will have to make sure that whatever he purchases is
of the later spec.

it depends on resolution. 720p and 1080p @ 60hz is supported all the
way back to 1.0, but those aren't high res.

I was only suggesting that the 30FPS limitation was at 4K resolution,
not any resolution lower than that.

Still, I thank you for your up-to-date information and feel that it
benefits us all.
