Accessing files on XP from a 98 PC

We just bought a new PC with XP to use as sort of a pseudo-
server (about 15 people are connected via a hub network
and they store art files on the new PC). All of the other
PCs use Windows 98. The problem is that when the 98 PCs
are trying to access their files on the XP machine, the
response time is incredibly slow. Someone told me this is
a known issue, but I can't find any info on the Microsoft
support site. Can anyone point me to a patch or something
that will resolve this?

Thanks!
Dave

Slow networking through a hub

Symptoms: you have small network connecting 2 computers through a hub. The
network works fine but it is slower. If you use crossover cable to connect
these computers, the speed is normal.

Resolution: configure all of the computers' network cards for half duplex.
Most Hubs don't support full duplex.
