Hi

That would depend on which kind of XP CD you have - OEM, Full Retail or no
disk?

That depends on the installation media. If the computer came along with
a preinstalled WinXP, there should be at least a "Recovery CD" doing
exactly what you want to do. If there is/are no media, the manufacturer
*may* have saved the necessary files to a separate (FAT32) drive.

The PC vendor was required to provide a method to do just that. If you
have lost the documentation on how to do this, you should contact their
tech support to find out what it is, and how to do it.

One thing to remember BEFORE you do this is to backup ALL your data,
documents, music, photos, email etc. etc. to an external storage device be
it USB sticks, external USB drive, CDs, DVDs etc. as when you do restore the
machine back to its original state your stuff will, in all probability, be
destroyed.

Follow the specific Recovery or Restoration instructions provided by
the computer's manufacturer.

We cant seem to find the recovery disk so we need to restore to computer back
to the way it was without the disk some how. I can remember them telling me
to do it some way like push something aswell as F11 or something like that.
Cant do anything with the computer so cant back up any of the files that are
on there, it wont even let me go into the start menu.

Then you'll need to contact the computer's manufacturer for a
replacement disk.

Well, what does your manual or the manufacturer's web site say to do?
All OEMs create different recovery methods, and you haven't even
bothered to tell us anything useful like what make and model computer it
is, so no one here can do your research for you.

If any of your data is of any value to you, you'd best take the
computer to a professional for assistance in retrieving it.
