I don't think these "alt...." groups are moderated.

You are posting to a moderated newsgroup or mailing list. Your post
was held until the moderator approved your post.

The answer to your question will depend on that newsgroup's or mailing
list's moderation policies.

You have not told us which newsgroup or mailing list you are posting
to. Each moderated newsgroup and mailing list has its own separate
moderation policies.

Try checking the FAQ for this (unspecified) moderated newsgroup or
mailing list to find what its moderation policies are. Failing that,
contact the moderator(s) of the (unspecified) moderated newsgroup or
mailing list.

How can he do this if Keith Nutter is not on speaking terms with the
moderator? Mind you Keith is a terrible individual and he uses really
fancy language when he feels like. Even the GG is quite mild compared
to Keith!!!

Firefox and Thunderbird are moderated (censored). mozilla.general
is wide open. You can call your friends meatballs if you want.

I will use mozilla.general if I think something would offend
the censors. The censors over on Thunderbird and Firefox are
about 1/10 as sensitive at the censors over on the M$ forums.

This is under the control of the Thunderbird newsgroup's moderator.
Your posts are being held for moderator approval because the moderator
believes that (1) you have been repeatedly posting misinformation, and
that (2) you repeatedly ignored correction from the moderator.

REF: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mozilla.support.thunderbird/j42niIsI4rw/BybJID4BBgAJ
-- the key word at this link is "banishment".

If you did not want your posts held for moderation, you would have had
to do what the moderator tells you to correct it. (You might have a
desire to go over the moderator's head to Mozilla management instead,
but I believe your chances that way are extremely slim.)

I expect you will already know why your posts are being held for
moderation, if you have read the replies from the moderator to your
earlier posts.
OTOH if you did not read the followups from the moderator then you
should have done so, and that is now the first place you should start.
Read the post at the link above, and also the three links at the
bottom of that post.

I have never knowingly posted mis information and have no idea of why
they are being held. If I did I would correct it.

The error message

"Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval
Header matched regexp: From:"

Tells me nothing. I don't even know what regexp means.

It stands for "regular expression".

It means as the messages enter the moderators queue for
approval, a "lightweight" approval system can, if it
wants, approve messages from people that have not
previously been trouble makers.

Seeing the regexp is a way of saying "Keith was on
our list, so we're going to need to examine his
post in more detail [human], before approval".

While some moderators read everything, there are other
mods who simply "post-moderate". You "commit a sin",
you're added to a list, and your *next* message is
more thoroughly vetted. Or ultimately, the regexp could
mean "ban hammer", and as long as you post with that
account name, your posts will never be seen. But the
moderation messages may not have the expressive
qualities to actually say "banned" when you've been
banned.

*******

A regular expression or regex, uses magic characters
as part of its specification:

^Keith "A string that begins with Keigh"

Nuttle$ "A string that ends with Nuttle"

^Keith Nuttle$ (A very exact match, only your full name works)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regular_expression

The regex has "unbounded behavior" (can take a long time
to execute if you are careless with the preparation of one),
and a later attempt at a syntax for them called "PCRE"
is a bit better. When you see "regexp" in a message,
it's "some flavor of REGEX but we don't really know
which one". The implementation isn't all that important,
just the fact that it "hints at a filter" is what matters to you
in this case.

You do know this is NOT a manufacturers associated site? This is a

anyone can pin up something. At least here though we can talk about it
but we're just a bunch of good ole' boys/girls goofing around on the
internet.

We're still subject to libel and slander laws.

That's why we don't pick fights with lawyers
in a newsgroup :-)

Other than the lawyers, we're both "good" and "ole".

*******

Now, what was better, were the *local* newsgroups at work.
There, we committed libel and slander, and because the
distribution never left the building, we had a hell of
a good time for ourselves.

It was those newsgroups that gave me a recommendation
for a dentist, and also, what car dealerships were
disreputable.

If we were impugning anyones reputation, only employees
could see the postings.

Keith is not referring to this newsgroup "alt.comp.os.windows-10".

Keith is referring to the Thunderbird newsgroup "mozilla.support.thunderbird"
on the Mozilla's news server "news.mozilla.org". By the "manufacturer",
Keith means Mozilla.
