Voice/Video + Router Issues

Thanks a lot for your help!

Greetings Matt,

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure (the

NetworkEverywhere/Linksys relationship is weird) --
make sure you have the latest firmware (you'll have it

on their site under Support), then go
into the router configuration (probably

http://192.168.1.1), Password tab and see if you have
UPnP toggle. If you do, switch it on, then reboot your

PC. You should then have access to
voice/video/remote assistance etc. through your router.

Note that for UPnP file transfer,
you'll need to use MSN Messenger 5:
http://messenger.msn.com/download/do....asp?client=1.

With UPnP, no configuration is necessary, but if you're

curious, voice/video uses ports
5004-65535 UDP, file transfer 6891-6900 TCP,

Whiteboard/Application Sharing 1503, and Remote
Assistance 3389.

I have just installed a router to share my internet

connection with a
playstation2. Everything works fine, the only problem

is when I try to have
a voice/video conversation using MSN Messenger. I have

read some posts and I
understand that my router must support UPnP.

My router model is NR041 from Networkseverywhere

I have seen some options for port forwarding or

something like that, but I'm
not very familiar with this configurations.

I would like to know if my router does definetely

support UPnP in order to
use all MSN Messenger features. If it does, which are

the ports used by MSN
Messenger?

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot,

Matt
