Home networking
I've had a workgroup working for quite a while and sometimes I was unable to
connect to shared pcs completely or some shared folders. I have everyone, wired and wireless, all on the same workgroup and obviously can see all the shares but I get this error message: \\xxxxx\(d) is not accessible. you might not have permission.... I've searched for days for a solution. Some shares work and some don't. I'm using simple file sharing, DHCP on everything and Under tcp/ippropertiesadvancedwins I have tried both default netbios setting (get from DHCP server) and forced Enable netbios I've disabled all firewalls and am pulling my hair out. For example, desktop #1 can see all the shares on my laptop and connect, but the LT cannot connect to the desktop. Obviously something is wrong. Any pc will respond to a ping with or without firewall. I've tried removing all the shares and starting over, no joy. I've read every thread, forum and KB possible and this is driving me nuts. I need to store and move files reliably. Is there a sure cure solution? Help! |
