Explorer hangs when opening folders containing MPEG2 (.mpg) files
 

Subject is self explanatory - can anybody help please?

This has only recently started - no problems with other types of video file
(DivX, AVI) etc.

Explorer freezes immediately if in 'Thumnnail' view mode, or when attempting
to open the file or access file properties in the other views.

However the MPG files appear to open OK in other apllications (WMP, WinDVD
etc).

i have this problem in windows 7 RC1
can anybody help please?

Explorer hangs when opening folders containing MPEG2 (.mpg) files
 

Every time I open a folder with an MPG ( or MPEG) file In windows 7,
Windows Explorer crashes. Even on my Desktop, when I drag my mouse on
the file (and even not clicking it!) Windows Explorer crashes. At first,
this problem started out by Windows Media Player crashing when playing
MPG files, but now it has worsened. I used CCleaner, and even installed
the Win7 Codec pack and removed broken codecs, and still, I am having
the same problem. Anyone help please?
