no sound when playing back video

I can not hear any sound when playing back video captured
on my camcorder. I have looked in all the device manager
areas for conflicts and don't see any. Up until about
August it worked fine. I don't know if one of the
programs I have installed changed the sounds or what. Is
there a way I can restore the defualt sounds that came on
the computer without doing a complete format?

Are you talking about USB or analog? If you are capturing analog, double
click on your volume icon in your task bar and click on advanced and make
sure your line in is selected, if it's USB, check all your volumes in the
same area to make sure none are muted and check that your cable to your
sound card didn't come lose.

Keppy,

I also have the same problem. However, line in is not one of the choices
that I have available (I assume you are talking about recording control).
The six choices I have are Midi Synth, "What U Hear", CD Digital, Analog
Mix, Microphone and Wave/MP3. I have selected each of these in turn and none
seems to work. I have a SB Audigy OEM from Dell and an AverMedia TV card. Do
you have any suggestions as to how I could get audio when I try to capture
video from my analog Camcorder?

Thanks,

Hask
