Mapped network drive
Hi,
I have a small network running with 5 computers using xp home sp2 and am having trouble getting one of the systems to connect to a network share folder. The system can see the shared directory on the other machine and access it, I can map the drive and everything works fine until I reboot. Problem is that I use a program on all the machines that access's data from the "server" at startup and this one particular machine appears to not reconnect the drive automatically, I can browse the mapped drive from the link in my computer and as soon as I do my program will run. There are no firewalls, or av . Any ideas appreciated ------------------------------ Stuart Pope ------------------------------ |

There are no firewalls, or av . If the pseudo-server is running XP Home, you are probably running into the concurrent inbound connections limitation. Upgrade the pseudo-server to XP Pro. Inbound connections limit in XP - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=314882 5 - XP Home/Vista Home Basic 10 - Vista Home Premium/Vista Ultimate/XP Pro 49 - SBS 2000 74 - SBS 2003 Unlimited for full Server O/Ses Note that the limitation is on connections and not computers. Each computer can, and usually does, make more than one connection to shares on a "server" machine. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
