O.T. Avast
Just to give you a heads up, today while
online I checked my bank account and noticed a fee that was unaccountable. It turned out to be from DigitalRiver.com (Avast) but I didn't purchase anything. http://i67.tinypic.com/10rkbk7.jpg Robert |

I don't know important details, but my first guess out of ignorance, is that the charge is based on a mistake/misunderstanding rather than fraudulent; and that an important actor in the mistake/misunderstanding might likely be you. -- Mike Easter |

It's just a small sentence ('Renewal: Automatic') they agreed during the initial purchase as seen in the screenshot below. " Hmmm. Clever. Slick even. Paul |

I went back and checked my emails and
I do have one for Avast to activate it but it's dated 2013. So apparently I did sign up for it then but I still don't have a password or account and I'm still using the free version not the paid version. So if I paid for it why isn't it running? Something isn't right here but from the looks of it it may be auto-renewal. So since I don't have the password but I do have the invoice and transaction number I think I'll call the company tomorrow and see if they can help. Robert |

I called Avast and they said I had ordered the Pro
version in 2015 but I never got any email and like I said I have been using the free version all this time. So to make a long story short they have taken me off the renewal and will be refunding me the $$$$. They really should have a 800 number set up instead of calling long distance though. Thanks guys for all your good help, Robert |
