Voice activated software
 

Not sure where to post this question - please advise. I have Windows XP
and a recent disability (hand/finger numbness). I'd like to find good
voice activated software that wouldn't "cost an arm and a leg".

You can find some 3rd party software on the web,free ones would be
at, http://www.downloads.com (might be .net),if its available they would
have it..Also,chk out microsofts xp voice page.

I think she wants voice _in_put (like Dragon Dictate - probably quite
good by now, and probably not cheap either), not output.

Is it in both hands/arms, or just one? Many years ago I was getting bad
pins and needles in my wrist, and a doctor identified it as carpal
tunnel syndrome, and just suggested I use the mouse in the other hand. I
was sceptical, but after a few months, it worked.

Also you might look at the various alternative keyboard layouts: I think
one called something like "Dvorak" is specifically designed for
limited-use (possibly one-handed?) users.

With apologies if your condition is making use of either hand difficult
and/or painful. (My - limited - actual _experience_ is with speech [and
Braille] _out_put, rather than disabled _in_put.)

Well i am much familiar out with t Dragon Naturally Speaking it's really best out for the Windows Speech Recognition Solution.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is probably the best for you. Another option is to buy a different type of mouse if you can still use your hand. There are some on the market for people that suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, where your hand is in a different position than it is with a standard mouse. After using a standard mouse at the company that I work at, I had to switch. Just do an online search (or have a friend do it for you) and see what's out there.

Google it you will have lot of options to choose from, you can have on trial basis before going to buy it

Try to install Realtek AC 97, i think every problem of voice will be solve
