external hd freeze
 
i have a wd mypassport 1tb se when i plug it into the usb port on my xp sp3 pc
it just locks up the pc, but if i plug it in when pc is off then boot the pc it can see the drive no problem, the wd is brand new

ok fixed it disabled usb legacy device in bios
