Do special dial-up-software overwrite init/connect String in Modem Settings? Priority? Logging?

Ok, I setup in ControlPanel-Phone and Modem Options-Modems

an initialisation string like

AT=.....

Is this a default string which can be overwritten by some indivudal init strings from a
special connect/dial-up software?

Or has this Modem initialization string - if available - ALWAYS priority over
possible individual init commands?

Can I somehow easily log the actual init strings?

You can switch on logging in the modem properties and view all the
initialisation strings in the log.
