filtering applications for printers
I use a particular application quite frequently. Unfortunately, once in a while it sends a rogue printer signal to our local printer which causes 100's of pages to be sent with a line of text at the top of each.
Is there a way of telling the printer/via driver not to allow this application. I never need to print hard copy anyways. Thankyou in advance. |

(Strange; I haven't come across such behaviour since FORTRAN days!) Is there a way of telling the printer/via driver not to allow this application. I never need to print hard copy anyways. Thankyou in advance. Can't think of anything, but if you really don't need to print much, install one of the phantom drivers - such as PDF995 - and make that your default printer. That way, if this application decides to do its thing, you'll just get a .pdf file appearing, not lots of wasted paper. It would mean that when you really did want to print something you'd have to remember to select a real printer, but if you hardly ever print anyway, that's not a problem. -- J. P. Gilliver.
