JVC GR-D72

Bought a used JVC GR-D72 in order to use the "passthrough" feature mentioned
in many revies to convert my old analog vidoes to digital. I have spent two
weeks trying without success--any help would be appreciated. I am able to
capture video played from a digital tape into Windows MovieMaker using
firewire (Vista) but no luck with passthrough.

On my Sony camcorder 'pass-thru' or 'DV-in' wasn't enabled by default. I had
to go into the camcorder menu and turn it on.
