recovery disk on windows 8.1

Hi everybody!
Just today I bought an HP laptop with pre-loaded windows 8.1.
(1) Is it true that windows 8.1 allows a recovery disk on a
USB drive only, as opposed to windows 8.0 which allows either DVD or USB?
(2) What is "one-time" recovery? Does it mean that recovery
disk can be made only once?

Regards,
Ravindra

One time recovery, means you can only burn one set of DVDs.
But, once you have a DVD in your hand, you can convert that
to an ISO9660 file, and store that file where you want for
later.

HP designs the software creating the recovery media.
Phone their tech support and ask them what options
should be available, and why.

You also have the option, of backing up the contents of the
hard drive on the computer, and storing them somewhere. Then,
if the hard drive in the new computer fails, you can reload
everything from your backup image. You're not limited
to the recovery DVD set. You have other options. You should
have a backup system in place anyway, to protect your
private files.
